An internship with Community Mental Health for Central Michigan is a great way to start your career and gain valuable experience in a professional healthcare setting. This opportunity is open to those who must complete hours based on a class requirement. We offer internship opportunities in numerous departments within our agency and we are located in six counties. Placement will be based on availability within the requested department and is not guaranteed. Students must complete an application to be considered.
A student intern will be placed within a CMHCM program while enrolled to complete an internship/student placement within the provisions of their academic program. Internships are provided without compensation. The internship timeframe may vary depending on the needs of the program and the requirements set by the educational institution. The student intern can work full time or part time, and the duration of the internship can vary from lasting several weeks, a semester, a summer or a whole year. This is a great opportunity for an individual interested in developing clinical and business development skills to work in a practice setting. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and eager to work with children, adolescents, families and/or adults. Interns may be allowed to be present during session if approved by the consumer/family. Student interns must maintain confidentiality of consumers information in accordance with the agency's standards. Student interns will be expected to participate in meetings if appropriate.
