SCHEDULE
This is a full time, hybrid position, 80 hours per bi-weekly pay period. Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm is the typical schedule, however there are other flexible options available which will be discussed in an interview.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $50,357 - $68,515 depending on experience
SUMMARY
General Description: Responsible for functional areas of Human Resources including employee recruitment and selection, orientation, compensation and benefits, wellness program, personnel records, FMLA and workers compensation.
Responsibilities and Duties: Carries out policies relating to all phases of human resources activity as assigned. Coordinates recruitment, selection and onboarding of employees to fill vacant positions. Attends various career fairs and events at local universities and colleges to develop a talent pipeline for the Agency. Leads the agency's internship program. Provides coverage and assistance with the New Employee Orientation process. Processes FMLA and workers compensation claims and accommodation requests. Assists in responding to a variety of Human Resources questions. Processes personnel transactions and maintains personnel record systems. Provides consultation to agency personnel on various policies and procedures. Provides suggestions for improving agency policies and procedures related to Human Resources.
General Education:
College: Bachelor's Degree required
Major: Human Resources Management
Job-Related Experience: Sufficient experience to perform the position at a satisfactory level required.
Licenses, etc.: Valid driver's license required while operating vehicle on agency business.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Knowledge: Knowledge of human resources and management principles; principles of wage analysis and job analysis; Federal and Michigan state laws and regulations regarding employment practices; selection procedures; training and development concepts; survey and statistical analysis concepts; benefits administration; employee relations and occupational safety.
Skills: Microsoft Office and Human Resources Information Systems.
Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in both individual sessions and in group training sessions; ability to relate to management and staff with varying skills, abilities, and needs; ability to establish positive and effective relationships with colleagues; ability to be innovative and adapt quickly to change. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and demonstrate initiative. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Demands: Work is generally sedentary. Some travel is required.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting.
